So I noticed this post on Macrumours yesterday and added it to my read later because it honestly seemed like a dumb idea and now that I have explored the product further, yeah not changed my mind.
This thing sells for $99.95 (US only) on the official website of Gamevice here and while the features read as great, obviously it's the Xbox controller layout, it has lighting passthrough and a 3.5mm jack (won't work for you iPad users with a type-c port)
I mean honestly look this thing looks great! (yes I took the image from the official site)
it also supports a fairly wide range of iPads too
- iPad 5th to 9th generation
- iPad Air 2/3
- iPad Pro 10.5
and it only adds 0.7 lbs to your setup.. or the more logical measurement of 315ish grams which is about just over half the weight of each iPad, now while iPads are not exactly big heavy clunky things, holding one all day does tend to give me a little bit of tiredness in my old bones... now add just under another iPad on top of that one
The thing is heavier than a PS4, PS5 or Xbox controller (with batteries) and requires itself to be connected to the iPad to use it, I'm sure someone somewhere will love it and I can see purposes for it when perhaps laid down flat ish and I stress I have not used this device so take my words, apply your own brain dust and make up your own mind but its a no from me dawg
