Day 1
So day one which I did end up streaming, worry not if you missed it everyone did - I really only stream because it gives me a downloadable file of ok'ish quality which I publish elsewhere. I have setup Twitch to export to my Youtube channel which I'll probably use in the future but I ended editing this one just slightly to remove the previous two seeds I tried.
The first seed wasn't all that bad but I did twice early on and was a little miffed that I died so stupidly, that and nothing had spoke to me in terms of good location so onto the second seed, this was in the middle of the badlands which stretched on for quite a distance - I opted not to bother too much and went onto the third seed which despite not really having much to offer had a little island with a Panda so I went with it and started flattening.
Flatten and Phases
The goal initially was this huge square - it felt big and not quite square so I eventually laid down some blocks (41 from memory) and if you do watch the video (don't it's long and boring) you'll see my fairly horrible maths... I had just finished work and I was tired 🤪 that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Once I had a size I was happy with I started to flatten down and then label out the land, it may look like some weird hedge maze but based on my efforts with the previous "hole" I had played solo I found that if I take down the entire marked out area layer by later I end up struggling with resources and boredom
I could also take it down two columns at a time, but that tends to also lead to boredom and a up down, up down process which gets ... tiresome
So what I have opted to do is lay out the area in phases, which is the order in which I'll dig them out at, the phases get larger as by the time I get to say phase 3 or 4 I should have some better resources.
I do have a village near me so I'm thinking early on I kidnap borrow two villagers make a villager breeder - possibly tie in an auto villager farm
- 2 villagers make the babies
- A third farms crops - carrots probably
- Sends them to a forth - missing, as they go into a hopper
- Finally a dropper spitting them out to the baby makers.
I have a rough idea of how this is laid out but I need to actually design it, I'll likely borrow a design for the breeder and just build upon that.
I also would like to take care of the iron issue REALLY early on but I want the villager breed up and running as soon as possible, playing on bedrock also means I need to put the breeder at least 150 away from the existing village (which I'll likely tear down) and my base (which will contain villagers running free.
The iron farm will also need to be 150 blocks away from the breeder and my base also because again, bedrock.. so yeah Day 2 is likely going to focus on the breeder / feeder setup.
Video
I've only removed the two previous seeds I looked over and the starting stream/ending stream cuts.
