SO I just noticed this over on the Dual Shockers website and its shocking how quick this game is winding down it’s content pool but Left4Dead hardcore players - seriously do a search on YouTube, the breakdowns are insane and very detailed .. anyway those lot will tell you the game was a shadow of Left4Dead and while much like World War Z it scratched the itch short term it’s not a replacement for the ageing legendary title.
Dual Shockers wroteTurtle Rock Studios announced today that it will cease making post-launch content for the studios most recent title, the co-op zombie shooter Back 4 Blood.
On the studio’s official website, the development team thanked fans for their support and understanding and assured players that the online services for the co-op shooter would remain active for the foreseeable future.

Hoping over onto the official site and digging around you will eventually find the goodbye thanks for the fish post. They do cite that they are a small team and cannot continue to work on a new game as well as supporting the existing game, some would suggest perhaps hiring more staff but this tends to eventually leads to layoffs so lets not go down that road and appreciate that they have chosen to scale down development and will likely work on patches - I am curious when/if servers will be pulled (I expect it would be a long ways away, at least 2026) but what remains playable of the game then .. anyway here is a quote from the ciao post

Turtle Rock Studios is actually pretty small for a studio making AAA games. We don’t have quite enough folks to continue working on Back 4 Blood content while we spin up another game – yes, another game! Given this, it’s time for us to put our heads down, get back in the lab, and get to work on the next big thing.
Intrepid Cleaners, this is not a goodbye.
Back 4 Blood will continue to operate, of course. In fact, Back 4 Blood is currently offered on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers and available as part of Xbox Game Pass. You’ll also still find us hanging out in the SUBREDDIT and on DISCORD, as well as our official TWITTER, INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK and WEBSITE because we love interacting with you and talking about our games.

Personally I did play Back4Blood on gamepass when it first dropped and found it fun, little disappointed no couch co-op and I would be paired with stranger over choosing to pair with Ai (this may have been fixed later) the game was fine, fun.. story was a story, not one I paid attention too as honestly in a game like this its get to point A-Z and maybe in the middle hold point M otherwise story wise it’s a bit braindead
